In the heart of Costa Rica — a country known for its beauty and biodiversity — there are children whose smiles hide a silent struggle. Many families live in poverty and access to basic healthcare is simply out of reach.

In 2007, seeing this urgent need, we came together — doctors, volunteers, dreamers — and formed Children Without Borders, or CWB.

Our mission was simple: to bring compassionate, sensible healthcare solutions to the children who needed them most.

Since then, CWB has grown — one caring hand at a time.
Through the tireless work of our volunteers and the generosity of donors like you, we’ve built something remarkable:
A network of free health clinics that reach underserved children across Costa Rica.

Each clinic offers more than medical checkups.
They offer hope — in the form of medicine, treatment, and the reassurance that someone cares. And when a child needs more serious medical intervention, we step in to make sure they get it.

At the heart of our mission is the CWB Mobile Health Clinic — a small van with a big purpose.
Inside, it’s fully stocked with everything needed to run a successful clinic:
medical equipment, gloves, masks, medication, and most importantly — compassion.

This van carries not just supplies, but opportunity.
It transports our doctors and volunteers to wherever they’re needed — from crowded precarios to isolated mountain villages.

Because every child, no matter how remote, deserves a chance at a healthy life.

Each year, our Mobile Health Clinic serves thousands of children across Costa Rica.
We work in partnership with the government’s social system, CAJA, the Red Cross, and local leaders to identify the communities most in need.
Together, we bring care to the forgotten corners of the country — where children are often seen by a doctor for the very first time.

Our mission goes beyond healthcare.
We aim to educate, to empower, and to build lasting change — by creating programs that address not just medical needs, but also social and educational gaps.

From coast to coast — in 35 different locations — the CWB Mobile Clinic continues its mission:
to reach the unreachable, heal the forgotten, and give every child the chance to thrive.
